Position Title: Field Operation – Process
Job Summary:
Responsible for safe operations of the caustic soda flaker plant and caustic concentration unit, along with timely vehicle dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate caustic soda flaker, concentration unit, burner, flaker drum, bagging unit, and belt conveyor safely and smoothly.
- Record and monitor critical process parameters and equipment rounds in logbooks.
- Identify deviations from operating parameters and take corrective actions.
- Monitor caustic tank levels and concentrator tube temperatures for stable performance.
- Verify product bag weights and ensure proper loading as per SOP.
- Supervise vehicle movement and dispatch to avoid delays.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in plant areas, godown, effluent pit, and storm water drains.
- Track raw material stock (sugar, salt, binder, thread rolls, HDPE bags).
- Restrict unauthorized entry into hazardous areas and enforce safety practices.
- Monitor daily chemical consumption against budget and analyze deviations.
- Prepare daily reports on stock, operations, shutdowns, and equipment planning.
- Ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements, monitor safety devices, and coordinate maintenance clearance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering / B.Sc. Chemistry
- 3–7 years’ experience in medium to large chemical/chlor-alkali industries
- Experience in chlorine operations and emergency handling
- Knowledge of ISO standards and statutory compliance
- Computer literacy
- Exposure to Environment, Health & Safety requirements
