Role Summary

The Shift In Charge – Production is responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant operations, ensuring product quality, meeting production targets, maintaining safety compliance, and leading shift teams. The role also supports brownfield and greenfield projects, operational excellence initiatives, and statutory compliance in chemical manufacturing plants.

Key Skills and Job Responsibilities

Shift leadership and workforce management

Batch operations and compounding, including solid and powder handling

Process control and monitoring using DCS systems

ISO 9001:2015 and NSF documentation and audit handling

HSES management, process safety, risk assessment, and MOC

SAP data entry and inventory management

Implementation of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence practices

Plant troubleshooting and breakdown handling

OEE improvement and CAPEX cost-saving initiatives

Training and development of operators and contract workers

Compliance with SOPs, work permits, and statutory regulations

Educational and Experience Requirements

Education

Diploma in Chemical Engineering

B.E / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering

M.Sc in Polymer Technology

Experience

Diploma holders: Minimum 10 years

B.E / B.Tech graduates: Minimum 5 years

M.Sc candidates: Minimum 7 years

Experience in batch, continuous, or semi-continuous chemical plants is preferred.
